Industrial Ethernet Switch Principles and
Applications:
Industrial Ethernet switches, which are
used in industrial control field, are open and widely used due to the adopted
network standards. They can adapt to low temperature and high temperature,
resist electromagnetic interference, prevent salt spray and have strong
earthquake resistance.
Ethernet switches are mostly Layer 2. For example,
Fengrunda's Ethernet switches work at the data link layer to exchange MAC
address data. There is also a third layer, such as Huawei's core switch is
working at the network layer.
The working principle is: when a frame arrives, it will check its destination address and correspond to its own MAC address table. If there is a destination address, it will be forwarded. If it does not exist, it will flood (broadcast). If there is no host MAC after broadcast. If the address is the same as the destination MAC address of the frame, it is discarded. If the host is the same, the MAC of the host is automatically added to its MAC address table.

Industrial
Ethernet switches are generally designed to meet industrial design: industrial
wide temperature design, 3-level electromagnetic compatibility design,
redundant AC and DC power input, and PCB board generally do “three-proof”
processing. The environment of the industrial site is worse than the ordinary
environment. At least the vibration, humidity and temperature are worse than
the ordinary environment. The ordinary switch is not designed to withstand the
various situations that occur in the industrial environment. The ordinary
switch cannot be long. Time work in such a harsh environment, often prone to
failures, and increase maintenance costs. It is generally not recommended to
use commercial switches in industrial environments. In order to enable switches
to be used in such harsh environments, production can adapt to this.

circuit protection, overvoltage, undervoltage automatic disconnect protection.
